Thanks for the review. I think I’ll try 5.2. Those of us who have no complaints really need to know if the change to the interface is going to turn us off. The changes are of no consequence for photos. But with the introduction of most of the 5.2 features we have to deal with a a lot of tracking bar on top.

Interesting review. However, the bottom line is would you recommend Adobe photoshop over anything else? This isn’t meant to be a personal attack against you, but it is my opinion that nothing else on this planet can compress an image to the level that photoshop (or dng – I’m not sure which is better) do so judging by the performance for perspective. That’s not to say that photoshop is perfect – there are bugs and other performance issues. But from a “wow I was waiting for this” point of view, nothing else comes close.

Thanks Narsil. I looked at Lightroom 6 and then thought better of it. What I want is something that will import DNG photos into Lightroom and give me the raw…not go a step further and adjust the lighting. They made a mess of importing a batch of images back in Lightroom 4. I love Lightroom 7 and it seems to import (no pun intended) much faster than Lightroom 5.2 and Lightroom 6.5 (6.6?).
