Layer: This is the first icon that you will see. Clicking on this icon will bring up the Layers panel. This panel contains all the different layers of your image that you can add to your picture.

Along with the usual set of available editing tools, Lightroom CC now has a few new templates. The most noteworthy are the Pop Memories Shot Pack (2 to 5 recipes) and the Frame Fearless Film Pack (2 to 15 recipes). The Frame Fearless Film Pack lets you take interesting frames and create a self-portrait together with the template.
In this case, the template has a near-six-foot frame with a horizontal bar that brings the two faces into more of an equal plane. The effect is creative and fun.
Adding the Pop Memories Shot Pack lets you take a nice self-portrait and store three to five themes, with different options for clothing and backgrounds. Instantly, you can see how the pack is put together, though the pack only features the horizontal frame, a creative idea which my self-portrait, above, shows. As with the Frame Fearless Film Pack, the only editing option in this pack is for storing the frame templates.
The most impressive part of Adobe’s update to Lightroom is its new Fusion Organization and Library features. The new launch screen of Lightroom CC makes this available immediately, even if youâve never used Lightroom.
This screen offers real-time suggestions for where youâve worked previously, how youâve worked with similar files and even the types of project youâve done. If youâve used Elements, this concept should be familiar. [Visible on a Mac or PC]
A few other less significant enhancements also make their debut or are expanded in this release. One of these is the ability to display all of the adjustments made in a brushstroke, not just whether or not it was applied. This is a boon for those spending a lot of time just cleaning up and fine-tuning images, or for those using masking tools.
Now to choose the individual blending method, you can choose from 4, 11, 16, or 22. This basically refers to colors, levels, and all ligh/dark areas of the image being processed. You can also choose to process edges.
To get a better look at each of the blending options, you can go to preview all of them by selecting the different experiment areas. Once you are satisfied with the effects, save your image as a recommended format for optimum quality.
If you are working on a project and you are not sure if you can alter many colors or if you need to optimize your file, you can use the Explore Parameters section. Once there, you can click on the Color or Levels option and perform several resolutions using either Common, CSC, RGB, or Lab color spaces.
